Pune, known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant atmosphere, has recently been in the news for all the wrong reasons. A few months ago, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) made headlines when they arrested ISIS terrorists who were planning to carry out bomb blasts in major cities like Pune, Mumbai, and cities in Gujarat.

The investigation led to the discovery that these terrorists had received training in bomb-making in a building in Kondhwa, Pune. Subsequently, more people connected to the ISIS module were arrested as the investigation expanded. And now, the case has taken a new turn as the prime accused, Rizwan Abdul Haji Ali, was apprehended by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police today.

Rizwan Ali, a key member of the Pune ISIS module, had been on the run and was finally captured in Delhi. It was revealed that Ali, along with other members of the module, had gathered information on high-profile locations in Delhi and Mumbai. The investigation also uncovered their involvement in armed robberies and thefts to fund their terrorist activities.

The NIA had issued a warrant for Ali’s arrest, and after evading the Pune police, he was finally caught in Delhi. Ali, a native of Daryaganj, Delhi, was found in possession of weapons during the arrest. The police also discovered that the accused were in contact with their overseas handlers through secret communication apps.

This latest development adds to the ongoing case involving the Pune ISIS module, with several members already in custody. The NIA had previously charged 11 individuals in Pune for possessing weapons, explosives, and materials related to ISIS. The supplementary charge sheet filed in March implicated Rizwan Ali and three others as members of the terrorist organization.

As the investigation continues to unfold, authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the public in Pune and beyond. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
