The tension in Shivajinagar reached a boiling point today as an argument erupted between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) members and Additional Municipal Commissioner Prithviraj BP at the Pune Municipal Corporation. The dispute stemmed from the controversy surrounding waste treatment plants in Hadapsar, Devachi Uruli, and other areas.

MNS leader Rajendra Wagaskar and his team visited the PMC main building to submit a letter of accusation against the organization overseeing the waste treatment project. However, the letter was redirected to Additional Commissioner Prithviraj BP in the absence of the Municipal Commissioner.

When Prithviraj questioned the evidence supporting the claims in the letter and walked away without further discussion, it sparked outrage among the MNS members. They protested outside his office, demanding action be taken against the organization responsible for the waste treatment project.

Security personnel intervened to calm the situation, and eventually, a discussion took place between the MNS delegation and the Municipal Commissioner. It was reported that the dispute was resolved after a dialogue between the officials.

The conflict revolves around allegations against Bhumigreen, the company contracted by the PMC for waste processing in various locations. The MNS accuses Bhumigreen of falsifying documents related to a waste processing tender and calls for the company to be blacklisted for fraudulent practices.

The MNS is concerned that certain officials and political figures may be protecting Bhumigreen from facing consequences for their actions. They argue that the failure to take legal action sets a dangerous precedent for future contracts and undermines the integrity of the Municipal Corporation.
