Hey there, folks! Today we have a rather unfortunate news story coming out of Bavdhan. A 62-year-old resident fell victim to a fraud scheme and lost a whopping Rs 9 lakh after surrendering his LIC policy. Ouch!
The incident took place between May 13, 2023, and January 17, 2024, leaving the victim in quite a financial bind. The brave soul decided to take action and lodged a complaint at the Hinjawadi Police Station. Kudos to him for not staying silent!
The culprits behind this shady scheme are said to be the holders of mobile phone numbers 7058377794 and 9028422763, along with two individuals named Deepak Jadhav and Ganesh Patil. These scammers convinced the victim to invest his hard-earned money in bonds similar to those issued by IFCI, promising him a sweet interest rate of 11.2%.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse, and the victim ended up receiving only a tiny fraction of his investment back – a measly Rs 24,795 to be exact. Talk about a major loss!
But fear not, justice is on the way! The Hinjawadi Police Station (part of the Pimpri Chinchwad police force) has registered a case and is hot on the trail of the culprits. Let’s hope they catch these fraudsters soon and recover the stolen amount for the victim.
