With the state assembly elections approaching, the Pune district administration is taking proactive steps to update the voter list. Today, election officials are available at polling stations with the preliminary voter list for review. This follows a similar campaign held on Saturday.

Key dates for voter list updates include special campaigns on August 11, 17, and 18, which are public holidays dedicated to this effort. Voters are encouraged to check their names and make any necessary corrections or address any omissions. Claims and objections can be submitted at polling centers or through the Voter Helpline app and website.

Deputy Collector Meenal Kalaskar has called for participation from relatives of deceased voters and political party representatives to assist in removing names of deceased individuals from the voter list. This measure aims to maintain an accurate and up-to-date electoral roll.

As of the latest update, there are 84.39 lakh registered voters in the district, with an increase of 1 lakh since the last Lok Sabha elections. The breakdown includes 44.03 lakh men, 40.35 lakh women, and 0.75 lakh third-gender voters across 8,417 polling stations.

The registration deadline is ten days before the nomination period, and verification tools are available on the official website and Voter Helpline app. The Pune district administration urges all eligible voters to verify their information ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
