The rally, part of a public awareness and peace movement for Maratha reservation, saw thousands of Marathas from across the state converging in Pune for the event. Patil criticized political leaders, particularly Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and called for unity within the Maratha community. He announced a crucial meeting on August 29 to determine the next steps in their movement and emphasized the need for unity among communities.
