Sandalwood theft is on the rise in Pune city, with a recent incident involving thieves breaking into a bungalow on Prabhat Road. The daring thieves stole a sandalwood tree at gunpoint, leaving the family terrified. The incident took place late at night on Saturday, with the thieves threatening the woman and her family before making off with the valuable tree.

The woman promptly reported the incident to the Deccan Gymkhana Police Station, where Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh Gill and Assistant Commissioner Sainath Thombare are leading the investigation. The police have obtained CCTV footage from the area and are actively working to track down the suspects.

This is not an isolated incident, as sandalwood thefts have been on the rise in Pune city over the past year. Thieves have been targeting various locations, including government offices, educational institutions, and residential areas. Despite efforts by the police, the thieves have managed to evade capture, posing a challenge for law enforcement in the city.
