The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune recently hosted the eighth edition of the AFMC Pune Marathon on August 11, 2024. The event saw an impressive turnout of over 4,500 runners, including service personnel, veterans, families, medical cadets, nursing cadets, and civilians from all over the country.

Participants competed in various categories such as the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, and 5km Fun Run. The marathon was flagged off by Lt Gen Sandeep Thareja, the Director & Commandant of AFMC, and witnessed the presence of other senior dignitaries. Maj Gen Giriraj Singh, the Dean & Deputy Commandant of AFMC, was on hand to felicitate the winners.

Over the years, the AFMC Pune Marathon has gained popularity, attracting runners of all ages and backgrounds. It has become a much-anticipated event on the national marathon calendar.
