Breaking News: Administrative Hiccup Halts Progress on Jejuri Fort Pilgrimage Development Plan

In a surprising turn of events, the first phase of the Sri Kshetra Jejuri Fort Pilgrimage Development Plan has hit a roadblock due to a major administrative error. The Public Works Department (PWD) granted approval for an external bypass road without the required permission from Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase, causing the immediate suspension of the tender process.

The ambitious project, with a budget of Rs. 349.45 crores, aims to enhance the historic Shree Khandoba Dev Sansthan in Purandar taluka and Jejuri town. The first phase, valued at Rs. 109.57 crores, includes crucial preservation and repair works such as fortification, restoration of lamp posts and arches, and temple restoration projects.

However, the approval of the external bypass road without proper authorization has led to a halt in the project. Dr. Diwase has ordered PWD to stop the tender process and ensure that all administrative procedures are followed.

MLA Sanjay Jagtap emphasized the importance of adhering to the Department of Archaeology’s directives in implementing the development plan. He confirmed that PWD has requested the cancelation of the bypass road tender and that a new tender process will be initiated.

While this setback may delay the project temporarily, authorities are determined to ensure that the Jejuri Fort Pilgrimage Development Plan progresses smoothly with the necessary administrative protocols in place. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
