Hey Pune folks, here’s some news for you! The Chaturshringi Temple Trust has decided to close the temple for a month starting from August 16 for some renovation work. So, if you were planning to visit the temple during Shravan month, you might have to wait a bit.

Shravan month holds a special place in Maharashtrian culture, and many devotees usually flock to the Chaturshringi temple during this time to seek blessings from the goddess. But don’t worry, the trust has made arrangements for you to still catch a glimpse of the goddess. The ‘Utsav Murthi’ will be placed at the Ganapati temple for devotees to visit.

During Navratri, the temple is usually buzzing with activities like Abhisheks, Rudrabhishek, and Mahapuja. Not to forget the Maha Aarti that takes place twice a day. And guess what? The temple is open 24 hours during Navratri for all you night owls to seek blessings.

If you’re curious about the history of the temple, here’s a little snippet for you. Back in the 18th century, a moneylender named Durlabhsheth Mahajan had a vision of the goddess in his dream. She guided him to a spot in the northwest part of Pune where a ‘Swayambhu’ idol of the goddess was found. And that’s how the Navratri festival started at the Chaturshringi temple.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to visit the temple after the renovation is done. And don’t forget to cooperate with the trust during this time. Happy blessings, Pune!
