1. Southern Command Headquarters in Pune celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with a series of events showcasing the nation’s rich heritage and patriotic fervor.
2. Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, along with military personnel and veterans, paid tribute to fallen heroes during a wreath-laying ceremony at the Command War Memorial.
3. The National Flag was displayed enthusiastically under the ‘हर घर तिरंगा’ campaign, symbolizing national unity and pride across the Southern Command.
4. The Southern Command initiated a tree plantation drive under the theme ‘एक पेड़ माँ के नाम’ to promote environmental conservation.
5. Over one lakh saplings, including fruit-bearing and medicinal plants, were planted by various Army units and formations across the Southern Command.
6. The Independence Day celebrations concluded with a ‘Flagging In’ ceremony for a motorcycle expedition covering 5,500 km from Mumbai to Kargil and back to Pune.
7. The expedition, which began on Kargil Vijay Diwas, spread the message of patriotism and unity, serving as a powerful symbol of the nation’s indomitable spirit.
