Panic ensued at Kamala Nehru Hospital in Pune yesterday after a video of three Muslim men sparked security concerns. The men, initially suspected to be illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, were later found to be residents of Bihar. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed that there was no terror threat.

The men, who had come to Pune to raise funds for a religious institution, visited the hospital for medical attention. However, their presence raised suspicion among some visitors, leading to the recording and sharing of a video on WhatsApp. The police arrived at the hospital and detained the men after reviewing CCTV footage.

Hospital staff took precautionary measures by evacuating the premises and closing the OPDs. Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh Gill stated that the investigation is ongoing, including questioning the person who recorded the video. The decision to evacuate the hospital was made to prevent panic during the men’s detention.
