1. Brace yourselves, Punekars! The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a complete shutdown of water supply on August 22 for essential maintenance work at various water treatment plants and centers in the city.
  2. The maintenance work will affect areas serviced by the Parvati Water Treatment Plants, Jackwell, Lashkar Water Centre, Vadgaon Water Centre, and Holkar Water Centers, among others. Residents in these areas are advised to store enough water in advance to tide over the shutdown.
  3. But wait, there’s more! Areas served by the Warje Water Centre, Chandni Chowk tank, Gandhi Bhavan tank, and Pancard Club GSR tank will also experience disruptions in water supply. Make sure to plan accordingly and use water sparingly during this time.
  4. The maintenance work will extend to SNDT MLR and HLR premises, Chaturshringi tanks, and other locations, leading to temporary shutoffs in these areas as well. Punekars are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions to minimize inconvenience during this period.
  5. Don’t fret, though! Water supply is expected to resume on Friday, albeit at reduced pressure in many parts of the city. Keep calm, stay prepared, and let’s get through this together, Pune!
