In recent shocking news, two cases of sexual abuse in schools have rocked communities in Pune. In Badlapur, a school cleaning worker was accused of sexually assaulting two young girls, while in Pune, a 19-year-old student was arrested for attempting to rape a class VII student in Bhawani Peth.

The incident in Pune took place on Independence Day, when the victim had gone to school to retrieve her bag. The accused, who was also a student at the school, allegedly dragged her to the toilet and tried to molest her. Thankfully, the victim was able to escape and inform her parents, who then reported the incident to the authorities.

Both cases have seen swift action from the authorities. In Pune, the accused has been apprehended, while in Badlapur, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been set up to look into the matter.

Rupali Chakankar, chairperson for the Maharashtra Commission for Women, has promised that strict measures will be taken against the accused in both cases. “We understand the seriousness of these incidents and will make sure that justice is served,” she stated.
