It was a chaotic scene on the Pune-Solapur National Highway near Khadki, Daund Taluka, as a collision between a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and a tanker left six people injured. The incident occurred at noon when the Ertiga car crashed into the tanker, causing severe damage to the car and injuries to its occupants.

The accident, which happened in front of Lakshminarayan Mangal Karyalay, was blamed on the tanker driver who was allegedly watering trees on the road divider. The Ertiga car, traveling from Solapur to Pune, collided with the tanker, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles.

The injured individuals were quickly taken to a private hospital in Bhigwan, Indapur Taluka, for medical treatment. Villagers believe that the accident could have been avoided if the tanker driver had used a reflector at the rear of the vehicle to warn approaching vehicles.

With the Pune-Solapur highway seeing increased traffic speeds, it is crucial to follow safety measures like using reflectors to prevent accidents. Failure to do so not only endangers motorists but also disrupts traffic flow. Authorities are being urged to take proactive steps to address safety issues along the highway before residents take to the streets to demand action.
