A Pune citizen studying in the United States fell victim to a fraudulent priest, losing over Rs 11 Lakhs in the process. The 21-year-old woman reported the incident to the Deccan Gymkhana Police Station, and a case has been registered against Siddharth Abhay Kumar Aamale from Kalewadi.
It all started between November 2022 and April 2024 when the accused promised to help resolve the complainant’s household issues. He gained her trust by offering online puja and worship services, claiming they would solve her problems. The woman, who is now studying in Chicago, USA, ended up paying Rs 11,83,000 to the accused.
Unfortunately, she never received any money back as promised, leading her to report the fraud to the police. So, next time someone offers you a quick fix for your problems in exchange for money, make sure to think twice before handing over any cash. Stay safe out there, folks!
