With Raksha Bandhan just around the corner, Pune saw a surge in travel as siblings made their way to each other’s homes to celebrate the special bond between brothers and sisters. To accommodate the increased number of passengers, PMPML decided to boost its fleet by adding 130 buses to its existing lineup of 1,692, bringing the total to 1,822 buses.

The decision to increase the number of buses paid off, as more than 27 lakh passengers traveled on the 19th and 20th of August, with PMPML receiving positive feedback from passengers. On the 19th of August, 1,822 buses were available, serving over 13 lakh passengers and generating an income of Rs 1,89,10,902. The following day, 1,733 buses served over 14 lakh passengers, resulting in an income of Rs 2,05,89,891.

PMPML’s efforts to provide efficient and streamlined service during the festive season were well-received by passengers, ensuring a smooth travel experience for all. This move highlights the importance of proactive measures taken by transport authorities to meet the demands of special occasions and events.
