Hey Punekars! Get ready to march for a cause that affects us all – the revival of our city’s rivers. The Pune River Revival initiative is calling on all residents to come together on the 25th to demand action from the administration.
The organizers are not messing around – they want a comprehensive and sustainable approach to river management that takes into account the impacts of climate change and recent floods. They’re fed up with obstructions and waste in the rivers, and they’re demanding that flood line regulations be followed in city planning.
Not only that, but they want scientific surveys of groundwater sources and an end to unscientific projects like riverbank beautification. The stakes are high, folks.
At the end of the march, a letter outlining these demands will be handed over to the authorities. And then, a joint flood control meeting will be held to figure out how to prevent future disasters.
