Pune witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday, August 25, as a speeding ST bus collided with a four-wheeler car in the Khadki railway station area on the Mumbai-Pune highway. The accident resulted in the death of Manisha Vijaysingh Bhosale, a 40-year-old officer from the Purandar Land Records Department.

The bus driver, Anant Punjabrao Uike, has been detained by the Khadki police following the incident. According to police reports, Bhosale, who hails from Kavathe Mahankal, Sangli, was on her way back from her brother’s house in Chikhali when the bus collided with her car.

The collision caused severe damage to the front of the car, leading to injuries for Bhosale’s husband and brother who are currently in critical condition at Sassoon Hospital. A two-wheeler rider also suffered injuries in the accident.

The police and local residents quickly responded to the scene, transporting the injured to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, Bhosale did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. In total, 12 people were injured in the accident.

Following the collision, traffic congestion was reported in the area, but the police were able to clear the road and restore normal traffic flow. Both the bus and car sustained significant damage in the accident. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to determine the cause of the tragic accident.
