The PMRDA has finally received the green light to proceed with their recruitment process after a long delay. Thanks to a government decision made by Subrao Shinde, the Joint Secretary of the Urban Development Department, the Recruitment Procedure Rules for Service Entry and Classification of Services (Regulation 2023) have been approved.

According to Sunil Pande, PMRDA’s Joint Commissioner of Administration, the recruitment process is expected to take around a year. Employees who came over from the Navnagar Development Authority after the merger will also be eligible for promotions, which is good news for them.

However, not everything is running smoothly at PMRDA. Complaints have been made about contract employees, especially in the encroachment and engineering departments. In response to these complaints, 16 junior engineers were let go after grievances were reported to the chief minister. Amol Tambe, the Chief of the Anti-Encroachment Squad, has been tasked with addressing these issues, causing concern among other employees about potential repercussions for them.

Despite these challenges, PMRDA plans to reduce the number of contract employees with their new recruitment drive. Some positions, such as constables and assistants, will still be filled on a contractual basis. It will be interesting to see how these changes impact the organization in the long run.
