The small village of Shirur in Maharashtra is currently on edge as incidents of leopard attacks have been on the rise. Recently, a 55-year-old woman named Muktabai Bhau Khade lost her life in a tragic attack in Jambut village. Her body was found in a sugarcane field after she went missing, leaving the entire village in mourning.

In another incident, a farmer named Ankush Kharde was attacked by a leopard while on his morning walk in Kanhur Mesai village. Despite sustaining injuries to his face and hands, Kharde managed to scare off the leopard and is now receiving treatment at a local hospital.

To address the growing threat, the forest department has set up cages in both villages to capture the roaming leopards. Forest Officer Pratap Jagtap has assured that government assistance will be provided to the family of Muktabai Khade and to Ankush Kharde.

The villagers are understandably fearful and tense as they await further action from the authorities to prevent any more tragic incidents. The safety of the residents is of utmost importance, and measures are being taken to ensure their protection.
