The incident in Tulapur on Tuesday has left residents of Wagholi shocked and disturbed. A local priest is facing allegations of voyeurism after he was caught trying to secretly film a woman while she was changing clothes.
The 29-year-old homemaker, along with her husband and brother-in-law, had hired the priest to perform rituals at the Triveni Sangam in Tulapur. After the rituals, the priest suggested that the family bathe in the river and change clothes in a nearby room.
Little did they know, the priest had placed his cellphone among their belongings in the room, recording the woman without her consent. Fortunately, the woman noticed the phone and immediately alerted her husband.
The couple quickly took action by reporting the incident to the Lonikand police station. The police have seized the phone as evidence and have issued a notice to the priest to cooperate with the investigation.
