The Ministry of Textiles & Ministry of MSME, under the guidance of PM Modi, has launched some amazing schemes for weavers and handloom professionals. Prof. Dr. Medha Kulkarni, Rajya Sabha MP, recently talked about the ‘My Pride, My Handloom’ initiative by the Government of India, which aims to support handloom weavers.

The grand handloom exhibition organized by the Indian Silk Gallery at Harshal Hall, Karve Road, Pune, was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Medha Kulkarni along with other dignitaries like Srinivas Rao and Shefali Vaidya. The exhibition showcases a variety of silk, cotton, and linen fabrics from different parts of the country, perfect for upcoming festivals and wedding ceremonies.

More than 60 handloom traders and weavers from Maharashtra and 15 other states are participating in the exhibition, which is open to all for free until 5th September 2024. Srinivas Rao highlighted the craftsmanship of weavers and the importance of promoting handloom products to the people of Pune.
