Alright folks, listen up! If you’re planning on hitting the Pune-Mumbai Highway anytime soon, you might want to rethink your route. A ban on heavy vehicles is causing quite the traffic nightmare for commuters.

According to a senior official from the Collector’s office, the ban is necessary to ensure smooth passage for VIPs and maintain traffic order. But Punawale resident Dhanraj Jagtap is not having it. He expressed frustration over the traffic jam he encountered on the highway, delaying school buses and causing chaos.

Traffic Officer Sunil Pinjan is aware of the issue and is working to improve the system. He urged commuters to plan their routes accordingly and avoid traveling on the Mumbai-Pune Highway during the restricted period.

The Highway Safety Team has also jumped in, prohibiting traffic from the expressway due to inadequate parking space. Vehicles traveling towards Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane are allowed to park within designated limits during this period.

So, here’s the lowdown: heavy goods vehicles are banned from 11 pm on August 29 to 8 pm on August 30. Emergency vehicles, police vehicles, fire brigade vehicles, ambulances, and Namud program vehicles are exempt from the ban. And if you’re heading towards Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, or Thane, make sure to park within designated limits.

In a nutshell, plan your route wisely, avoid the Mumbai-Pune Highway during the restricted period, and brace yourself for some traffic woes. Stay safe out there, folks!
