Ganesh idols were recently handed over to three Ganesh mandals in Kashmir, marking the second consecutive year that Ganeshotsav will be celebrated in the Valley. This initiative, led by Young Entrepreneur Punit Balan and seven Manache Ganpati mandals from Pune, aims to promote peace and social harmony among various religious communities in the region.

Last year, the Ganesh Festival was celebrated for one-and-a-half days at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. This year, it will be observed at three locations in the Valley, including Anantnag and Kupwara for five days each. The Ganesh mandals in Kashmir received replicas of Manache Ganpati idols after performing a Puja conducted by mandals from Pune.

The replicas were handed over to Ganpatyar Trust from Lal Chowk, Kupwara Ganesh Mandal, and Anantnag Ganesh Mandal. Office-bearers of the Ganesh mandals from the Valley expressed their gratitude for the initiative, highlighting the importance of celebrating the festival in promoting peace and harmony.

Speaking at the event, Punit Balan emphasized the significance of spreading Pune’s cultural tradition to Kashmir and expressed his hope for the festival to bring blessings of peace to the region. The mandals from Pune also commended the efforts of Punit Balan and highlighted the positive impact of celebrating Ganeshotsav in Kashmir.

Overall, the initiative to celebrate Ganeshotsav in Kashmir showcases the power of cultural exchange and unity in diversity, bringing communities together through the spirit of celebration and harmony.
