Hey Pune peeps! Exciting news on the metro front – the underground metro line between Shivajinagar Court and Swargate is almost ready, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the official opening. The administrative process is taking a bit more time than expected, but hey, good things come to those who wait, right?
In the meantime, there’s talk of a grand ceremony to mark the groundbreaking of the expanded metro lines and the inauguration of the Swargate station. It’s all happening at once, folks!
The Pimpri Chinchwad – Shivajinagar Court Metro is already up and running, and soon there will be a shiny new subway between Shivajinagar Court and Swargate. Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol and MLA Madhuri Misal recently inspected the Swargate Metro station and gave it the thumbs up. The Mahametro Managing Director and other officials were also on hand to check things out.
The new metro line will have stations at Budhwar Peth (Kasba Ganapati), Mahatma Phule Mandai, and Swargate. It looks like we’ll have to wait another ten days for the Mahatma Phule Mandai station to be ready. Safety first, right?
Oh, and some name changes are in the works too – Budhwar Pethe station will become Kasba Peth station, Mangalwar Pethe station will be known as RTO station, and Nashik Phata station will now be called Kasarwadi station. The Central Government has also given the green light to rename the Civil Court station as Shivajinagar District Court.
But wait, there’s more! The Swargate-Katraj extended metro line has been approved by the powers that be. And there’s a push to fast-track approvals for expanding the Ramwadi-Wagholi and Vanaj-Chandani Chowk routes. Looks like we’re in for some major metro action in Pune!
