Alright folks, buckle up because the Ganpati Festival is just around the corner and the excitement is palpable in Pune! With just four days to go, the city is gearing up for a mass exodus of people heading to their native places in Konkan to celebrate the festival.
To ensure smooth travel for all the festive-goers, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has announced that additional buses will be running on the Pune-Konkan route. Around 5,000 more buses will be heading towards Konkan from various places across the State, with an extra 325 ST buses specifically allocated for the route from Pune. And guess what? All the seats in these buses have already been snatched up by eager passengers!
In case the bus stand gets overcrowded with the influx of travelers, fear not because the MSRTC has assured that more buses will be made available to accommodate the rush. Passengers have already started booking their ST bus tickets online, and some have even lined up at the booking window to secure their seats for the journey.
Starting from Wednesday, additional buses will start plying to Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri, with the highest number of buses (200 to be exact) hitting the Konkan route on Thursday. The Pune Division is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a seamless travel experience for all passengers, with a whopping 250 buses departing from Swargate Bus Stand and 75 from Vallabh Nagar Bus Stand.
Pramod Nehul, Divisional Controller of the ST Division in Pune, expressed his confidence in the preparations, stating, “The Pune Division has made available a maximum number of buses for passengers travelling to Konkan. Buses from the low-response routes will be diverted to the Konkan route to meet the demand.” So, if you’re planning to escape the city hustle and bustle for a peaceful Ganpati celebration in Konkan, rest assured that the transportation arrangements are in full swing!
