In a shocking turn of events, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made an arrest in Nashik, Maharashtra. The accused, Sr. Marketing Officer Vishal Talwadkar from the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. one lakh from a complainant.

The case came to light when a complaint was filed against Talwadkar and another Marketing Officer, Guljar Sonawane, for allegedly demanding a bribe in exchange for issuing an AGMARK License for the ‘Govardhan Ghee’ brand. The CBI set up a trap and successfully nabbed Talwadkar in the act.

Following the arrest, Talwadkar was brought before the Hon’ble Spl Judge, CBI Cases, Nashik, where he was granted police custody until 5th September 2024. Searches conducted at the accused’s residence and office uncovered incriminating documents.
