Hey there, Pune commuters! Big changes are coming to Ganeshkhind Road as construction work begins on five new metro stations along the Hinjawadi – Shivajinagar metro route. To make way for this development, traffic diversions have been put in place.

Starting from Bremen Chowk, all freight vehicles, private buses, and PMPML buses will need to turn left and follow the route via Dr Ambedkar Chowk. For two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers, the new path will be to turn left at ABIL House and take the Range Hills route. This means that the section from ABIL House to Shimla Office Chowk will be off-limits for vehicles heading towards Shivajinagar via Savitribai Phule Pune University Road.

The PMRDA has given Tata Company the responsibility of constructing the metro route from Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar, and in a bid to speed up the project, work on five metro stations will be carried out simultaneously. These stations include University Chowk, RBI, Agriculture College, Shimla Office, and Shivajinagar Court.

To make way for the construction work, traffic changes will be rolled out from 1st June onwards. Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rohidas Pawar have confirmed the upcoming modifications to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during this period.

So buckle up, Puneites, and be prepared for a different route to your destination as the city gears up for a metro transformation!
