Hey Pune peeps, have you heard the latest news? The Government of Maharashtra is finally taking steps to tackle the never-ending traffic on the Pune – Ahmednagar Highway. Yup, you read that right! A six-tier flyover is in the works for the 53-kilometer stretch from Yerawada to Shirur.

This game-changing decision was made in a meeting chaired by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The project, which will be managed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), is estimated to cost a whopping ₹7,515 crore. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar didn’t waste any time and instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to come up with a plan for a six-lane expansion to ease the traffic woes.

The road in question runs through Yerawada within the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits and extends all the way to Kharadi. There have been numerous complaints about the traffic situation on this stretch, and it looks like the government is finally taking notice. Deputy Chief Minister Pawar also emphasized the need for flyovers and grade separators to be included in the plan.

It’s about time, right? Let’s hope this project moves forward smoothly and we can say goodbye to those endless traffic jams on the Pune – Ahmednagar Highway. Kudos to the Maharashtra Government for making this happen!
