Viman Nagar, September 10, 2024: Passengers of Vistara’s Pune-Singapore (UK-111) flight were left stranded at Pune International Airport after their flight was repeatedly rescheduled and eventually canceled. The frustrating ordeal left over 100 passengers waiting for nearly 13 hours before they could leave for Singapore.

The flight, which was supposed to depart at 2:10 AM on Monday and land in Singapore at 8:10 AM (IST), was delayed due to a technical problem with the aircraft. The airline cited the complexity of the issue and crew duty time limits as the reasons for the cancellation.

Vistara spokesperson assured passengers that steps were taken to minimize the disruption, including offering refreshments, alternate flight arrangements, and refunds where applicable. The safety of passengers and crew was highlighted as the top priority.

One affected passenger, Prakash Jakune, shared his experience of the ordeal. He arrived at the airport at 10 PM on Sunday, following international flight guidelines. Despite being initially told the flight would depart by 2:40 AM, delays continued to mount with shifting boarding times and lack of clear information from airline staff.

After finally boarding the aircraft around 5:30 AM, the situation worsened when the plane abruptly stopped on the runway and returned to the parking area. Passengers were kept inside the aircraft for an additional two hours before being told to deboard as the flight was canceled.

The refund process proved to be slow and frustrating, with Jakune finally leaving the airport around 11 AM, almost 13 hours after arriving. The incident left passengers disappointed and inconvenienced, highlighting the challenges faced by travelers in such situations.
