Hey Puneites, did you hear about the awesome cycle rally that took place in our city recently? Over 2,500 cyclists gathered at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue in Kothrud and pedaled their way to the Dharmavir Sambhaji Maharaj statue in Deccan. The event was organized to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and promote the importance of physical fitness and eco-friendly lifestyles.

The rally was inaugurated by Union Minister Raksha Khadse and saw the presence of some notable personalities like Skydiver Padma Shri Shital Mahajan, cricketer Rahul Tripathi, and former corporators Jayant Bhave and Vishram Kulkarni. Khadse spoke about the benefits of cycling for both our health and the environment, highlighting PM Modi’s ‘Fit India’ movement.

The ‘Pune on Pedals’ initiative, now in its fifth year, aims to encourage more people to cycle for their health. This year’s rally was a huge success, with Khadse even handing out free bicycles to underprivileged children. All participants received medals, certificates, and T-shirts for their efforts.

It’s great to see Puneites coming together to promote fitness and environmental conservation through cycling. Let’s keep pedaling and making our city a healthier, greener place to live!
