The current infrastructure is struggling to cope with the volume of vehicles, prompting the decision to build a new highway from Atal Setu to Bengaluru.
According to Gadkari, a tender has already been issued for the project, and construction will begin within the next six months. The new highway will seamlessly connect to the Pune Ring Road, offering a smoother and faster route for commuters. Additionally, it will link up with the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar road, further easing traffic congestion in the region.
During his speech, Gadkari didn’t hold back in critiquing the inefficiencies within the system. He called out government officials for their lack of transparency and emphasized the need for more honest and efficient workers. Gadkari even humorously compared officials holding onto file reports for months to treating them like their wives – talk about keeping things close to the chest!
On a more serious note, Gadkari voiced concerns about the potential job losses in the transportation sector due to the rise of autonomous vehicles. He assured that as long as he’s at the helm, autonomous vehicles won’t be hitting Indian roads anytime soon.
