As the city of Pune gears up for the upcoming immersion procession, police officials are taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of its residents. Dedicated police teams will be stationed at critical locations to prevent crimes such as harassment of women, chain snatching, and mobile theft. Inspections of lodges and hotels are being conducted to guarantee security throughout the city.

In light of the festivities, all liquor stores in Pune will be closed on September 17 and 18. Traffic restrictions will also be implemented, with main roads and internal streets in central Pune closed off. Emergency routes for ambulances and fire services will remain open, with alternative routes provided for vehicles needing to navigate around the city center.

To provide assistance to the public during this time, the Pune Police have launched the ‘My Safe Pune’ app. This app will offer real-time updates on parking, police assistance, pedestrian paths, and road closures. Additionally, measures have been put in place to restrict the use of loudspeakers beyond midnight on September 17, with specific decibel limits to be strictly enforced.

In order to maintain a safe environment during the procession, the use of flammable substances will be prohibited. Furthermore, the bursting of firecrackers is banned in public spaces, streets, and around hospitals to ensure a peaceful celebration for all.
