The Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Mandal, the first Ganpati Mandal in India, is gearing up for its grand immersion procession this year. The procession will feature the stunning ‘Mayurpankh Rath’ chariot, which will be illuminated in a spectacular manner.
The event is set to begin from Lokmanya Tilak’s statue at 8 pm on Tuesday, September 17. Punit Balan, Trustee and Chief Organizer of the event, promises that it will be a visually stunning display for all attendees.
Balan shared that this year’s immersion procession will be a grand affair, aiming to provide an extraordinary experience for all who participate in Bappa’s farewell. The day will start with a ceremonial ‘Puja’ at 7:30 AM led by Acharya Swami Govind Giri Maharaj on Anant Chaturdashi. The Mayurpankh Rath will then make its way from Varad Vighneshwar Wada to Lokmanya Tilak’s statue at 8:30 AM.
Once the Manache Ganpati processions are complete, the grand immersion procession of Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati will kick off at 8:30 PM. The Mayurpankh Rath will be adorned with vibrant lighting, and traditional Dhol-Tasha groups such as Shriram, Shivmudra, and Samarth will perform along the route. Various traditional games will also be showcased to keep the crowd entertained.
Balan reassured that they are committed to completing the procession within the scheduled time. He emphasized that the immersion procession in Pune is a significant attraction for Ganesh devotees globally, and the mandals always strive to make the farewell event as grand and captivating as possible for maximum devotee participation.
