In a bid to streamline the annual Ganesh immersion procession in Pune, the city police have instructed the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh Mandal to kick off their procession by 4 PM on Tuesday. This move comes after the procession’s prolonged duration in previous years, with 30.25 hours in 2023 and 31 hours in 2022, causing traffic congestion and logistical challenges.

Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar stressed the importance of starting the procession earlier to ensure a more timely conclusion. The police have engaged with various Ganesh mandals and dhol tasha pathaks to enforce compliance with legal regulations during the event. The aim is to maintain order and ensure participants follow the guidelines set by the authorities.

The proactive measures taken by the Pune city police underscore their commitment to managing large-scale events efficiently, prioritizing public safety, and reducing disruptions. By initiating the procession earlier, organizers hope to streamline the event and enhance the overall experience for participants and spectators alike.
