In a heartwarming act of generosity, multiple organs were successfully donated to those in need in Pune this week. A liver, both kidneys, and a cornea were sent to various recipients by Wednesday noon.

Aarti Gokhale, the coordinator of Pune ZTCC, shared the details of the donations. One kidney and the pancreas went to a 39-year-old man in Baramati, while another kidney was donated to a patient from Ravet. The liver found its new home in a 38-year-old man from Chakan.

The cornea from the donor was sent to the Solapur eye bank, where it will help restore vision for someone in need. This marks the 50th deceased organ donation facilitated by Pune ZTCC in 2024, highlighting the increasing importance of organ donation in the region and the impact it has on saving lives.
