Hey there Pune peeps, have you heard about the recent crackdown on a gang involved in stealing petrol and diesel from tankers in Loni? Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has taken some serious action against these culprits, including one Pravin Madikhambe, under the MCOCA Act.
A total of 12 people have been nabbed for their involvement in this shady operation, with names like Shubham Sushil Bhagat, Trushant Rajendra Sumbhe, and Ravi Chhotelal Kevat among those arrested. However, the mastermind behind this operation, Pravin Madikhambe, is currently on the run.
Despite tankers being locked up to prevent unauthorized fuel extraction after leaving companies like HPCL and IOCL, these individuals managed to divert three tankers to a shed behind someone’s house and siphon off fuel using electrical motors. The police raid on September 10 uncovered a whopping 1,620 litres of stolen diesel and led to the arrest of 10 individuals.
Pravin Madikhambe is no stranger to the fuel theft game, with a history of similar crimes over the past 17 years. The Loni Kalbhor Police not only prepared a proposal to take action against him under the MOCCA but also received approval from Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil.
