Hey there, folks! Today we’ve got some interesting news coming out of Pune regarding the state of the roads and drainage system in the city. It seems like there’s a bit of a confusion between the drainage and road departments about who is responsible for getting some much-needed repair work done.

According to a recent report by Pune Pulse, the drainage department claims to have informed the road department about the need for repairs way back in August 2024. However, as of September 27, there hasn’t been any progress on the repair work, and both departments are pointing fingers at each other.

This isn’t the first time that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken a while to get things done. Remember that concrete road along the nala that took a whopping 1.5 years to complete? Yeah, that was thanks to the efforts of local groups like Pune Pulse and the NIBM Undri Road Residents Forum.

With heavy rains continuing to pour down on the city, there’s a serious risk that the road could collapse entirely if the nala wall isn’t rebuilt soon. Let’s hope that the authorities can sort out this confusion and get the repair work done before it’s too late. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story!
