Hey there, Pune folks! Here’s some exciting news for you – PepsiCo India recently teamed up with The Social Lab (TSL) to host the 2nd city edition of the Plog Run at the PepsiCo India Holdings Plant in Ranjangaon, Pune. What’s a Plog Run, you ask? Well, it’s a unique initiative that combines fitness and sustainability, where volunteers jog and collect plastic waste along the way.

Chandan Chaturvedi, Plant Head – Pune, PepsiCo India, kicked off the event, which saw an impressive turnout of nearly 110 participants, including employees, volunteers, and local citizens. Together, they covered a 1.2-kilometer stretch and managed to collect a whopping 289 kilograms of plastic waste. Talk about making a difference!

All the plastic waste collected will be sorted and recycled, in line with PepsiCo India’s commitment to ensuring that plastic waste is repurposed, not just thrown away. Chandan Chaturvedi emphasized the importance of collective action in building a cleaner and more responsible ecosystem in Pune.

Sahil Arora, CEO of The Social Lab (TSL), also chimed in, highlighting the shared commitment to sustainability and community engagement. By joining forces with PepsiCo India, they’re not only promoting physical fitness but also nurturing a culture of environmental stewardship. It’s all about coming together for a cause that benefits both the planet and our communities.

The Plog Run 2024 isn’t just limited to Pune – it’s happening across multiple states, with over 3,000 volunteers taking part in the run. This initiative is all about educating diverse communities on the importance of plastic waste management and responsible recycling. And with the support of partners like Varun Beverages Limited, Decathlon, Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gatorade, and Quaker, PepsiCo India is making a real impact in minimizing environmental harm while spreading awareness about recycling plastic waste.

So, kudos to all the participants and volunteers who took part in the Plog Run 2024! Your efforts are truly making a difference in creating a cleaner, more sustainable future for Pune and beyond. Keep up the good work!
