Hey Pune folks, get ready for some thunderous weather and intermittent rainfall in the evenings until June 7! The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a drop in daytime temperatures, with highs expected to be between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius.

Over the weekend, the Shivajinagar and Lohegaon observatories recorded temperatures of 36.6°C each, slightly above normal. But don’t worry, the Met officials say this drop in temperatures is due to pre-monsoon conditions.

The humidity levels have been on the rise in the city, making for some uncomfortable nights. But once the rain starts and temperatures cool down, things should improve, according to the Met official.

Good news for farmers – the southwest monsoon is on track to arrive soon. Last year, it arrived late in Maharashtra, causing some farming issues. But this year, the monsoon is expected to cover Maharashtra by June 6, a day earlier than expected.

And get your umbrellas ready, because pre-monsoon activity is set to increase in the next few days. Expect cloudy conditions and rainfall in Madhya Maharashtra, including Pune district, over the next two to three days.

So stay prepared for some rainy evenings and cooler temperatures, Pune! The monsoon is on its way.
