Hey folks, here’s some spicy news straight out of Pune! A local court has summoned Rahul Gandhi to appear in a criminal defamation case filed by the grandnephew of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The complaint alleges that the Congress leader made some not-so-nice comments about the Hindutva ideologue during a trip to the UK last year.
The court has set a date for Gandhi’s appearance on 23rd October, so mark your calendars! This isn’t the first time he’s been in hot water over this issue. Just last year, Satyaki Savarkar, a relative of Vinayak Savarkar, filed a complaint claiming that Rahul Gandhi had defamed and insulted the late Savarkar during an event in London.
According to the complaint, Gandhi intentionally made false and outrageous allegations against Savarkar, knowing they were untrue and with the intent to harm his reputation. Satyaki Savarkar is seeking justice and compensation for the damage caused to his family’s name.
But wait, there’s more! Another court in Nashik has also summoned Rahul Gandhi over similar defamation allegations regarding Savarkar. The complainant alleges that Gandhi tarnished Savarkar’s image during a press conference and speech in 2022.
Looks like Rahul Gandhi has some explaining to do. Stay tuned for updates on this drama-filled legal battle!
