The long-awaited Katraj Flyover in Pune may finally see progress, as authorities have proposed solutions to tackle the heavy traffic congestion at Katraj Chowk. The Municipal Corporation is working on expediting land acquisition at the site, where disputes have hampered construction efforts.

To manage traffic during the flyover construction, authorities have outlined a comprehensive diversion strategy. Measures include diverting MSRTC and PMPML buses, rerouting vehicles from Navale Bridge to Swargate, and redirecting traffic from Satara Road to Kondhwa. These steps aim to ease congestion and facilitate a smoother construction process.

In addition to traffic management, authorities have conducted trial diversions to fine-tune the plan. The upcoming third trial will help optimize traffic flow and ensure a successful implementation of the diversion strategy.

Shruti Naik, Executive Engineer at National Highways, emphasized the importance of citizen cooperation during this critical period. Once the diversion plan is finalized, construction on the Katraj Flyover is expected to resume promptly.
