Venture Center, a well-known Technology Business Incubator in India, has recently announced a strategic partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). This collaboration aims to enhance technology transfer offices in Indian institutions and promote the commercialization of innovative technologies.
The key objectives of this partnership include enhancing industry-academia collaboration, supporting climate-tech startups, and de-risking innovations. The partnership will focus on improving collaborations between industry and academic institutions, supporting climate-tech startups through the FLCTD project, and implementing training and development initiatives.
UNIDO and BEE have engaged Venture Center to develop a handbook on technology transfer and conduct training programs to enhance the skills of technology transfer professionals. Sandeep Tandon, National Project Manager of the FLCTD Project at UNIDO, expressed excitement about the partnership and emphasized the importance of innovative technological solutions in mitigating environmental impacts.
Venture Center will be supported by international and national experts in technology transfer, including Dr. Ashley Stevens, Dr. John Fraser, and Dr. Richard Cahoon. Dr. V. Premnath, Founder Director of Venture Center, highlighted the importance of elevating the knowledge and experiences of Indian tech transfer offices as India transitions to an innovation-driven economy.
The partnership aims to address societal challenges such as climate change, energy security, food security, and affordable healthcare. By empowering technology transfer professionals, Venture Center, UNIDO, and BEE hope to enhance India’s capacity for technology transfer and contribute to a more sustainable and innovative economy.
