The Pune City Police are leaving no stone unturned in their investigation of the tragic Porsche car crash that took the lives of two young techies. They are now pushing for a fast-track trial and the appointment of a Special Public Prosecutor once the chargesheet is submitted by the end of this month. Today, a blood sample was collected from the minor driver’s mother for a DNA test to confirm the swap that occurred with his blood sample.

A senior police officer revealed to Punekar News, “We are in the process of finalizing a Special Public Prosecutor for this case. We will be filing chargesheets against the minor at the Juvenile Justice Board and the parents and Sassoon employees in court. Our goal is to have the chargesheet submitted by the end of June or even sooner.”

The fatal crash occurred in Kalyani Nagar in the early hours of May 19 when a Porsche driven by a 17-and-a-half-year-old boy, who was under the influence of alcohol, collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both IT engineers.

The minor driver is facing charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and violations under the Motor Vehicles Act. The investigation also revealed that two doctors and a staff member from Sassoon General Hospital, along with the minor’s parents, were involved in swapping the blood sample for testing.

Dr. Ajay Taware, Dr. Shrihari Harnol, and Atul Ghatkamble were arrested earlier for allegedly altering the blood sample of the minor in exchange for favors. The minor’s parents, Shivani Agarwal and Vishal Agarwal, were arrested over the weekend for their role in the blood sample swap. The mother provided her blood for the swap, which led to the original sample being discarded.

The parents appeared before a Pune court on Sunday and have been remanded to police custody until June 5. The investigation is ongoing, and the Pune City Police are determined to bring justice to the families of the victims.
