With the Navratri festival in full swing, Pune’s markets are experiencing a surge in prices for vegetables, fruits, and flowers due to increased demand. Despite a rise in the arrival of produce from various states, prices have escalated significantly during the festive season.

Vegetables like tomatoes, cabbage, bell peppers, drumsticks, and peas have all seen substantial price hikes, driven by strong demand. Traders have reported a large influx of green chilies, cabbage, peas, carrots, and garlic from other states, as well as locally produced ginger, okra, tomatoes, cucumber, and cauliflower.

Onion prices range from ₹250-420 per 10 kg, garlic prices are between ₹1700-2900 per 10 kg, and tomatoes are selling at ₹350-400 per 10 kg. Drumsticks, green chilies, and peas have also seen significant price increases, reflecting heightened festival season demand.

In the leafy greens section, coriander, amaranth, radish, and spinach prices have surged compared to the previous week. The fruit market has seen a sharp increase in demand for watermelon, melon, papaya, and pomegranate, while prices for custard apples, chickoo, mosambi, oranges, and lemons remain steady.

The flower market has experienced a steady demand for festive decorations, with prices remaining stable for marigolds, roses, and other popular flowers. Despite increased arrivals, prices for many items have surged across Pune’s markets during Navratri, reflecting the strong festive season demand.
