In a shocking incident in Pune’s Maharshi Nagar area, a 28-year-old mentally unstable youth created chaos by locking himself inside a house and threatening to take his own life. The youth, who is married, was reportedly experiencing marital problems that may have led to his distressing behavior.
The situation escalated when the youth started throwing various items, including a television and clothing, from the second floor of the building. Concerned residents quickly alerted the Pune Fire Brigade, who arrived promptly to intervene.
Upon arrival, the fire brigade set up a safety net below the building and managed to enter the house to turn off the gas cylinder that the youth had activated. Despite the youth’s resistance and threats, the fire brigade successfully negotiated with him and ultimately rescued him from the dangerous situation.
Fire Officer Subhash Jadhav commended his team for their quick and effective response in handling the crisis. The operation involved several fire brigade officers who worked together to ensure the safety of the youth and those in the vicinity.
The rescued youth was handed over to the Swargate Police Station for further action, and investigations into the incident are ongoing. The timely intervention of the Pune Fire Brigade prevented a potential disaster and saved the youth’s life.
