As Diwali approaches, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a heartwarming gesture for its employees – a bonus and special grant to make their festive season even brighter. Approximately 18,000 employees and officials will receive an 8.33% bonus along with an additional special grant of ₹23,000. This initiative, with a budget of ₹125 crore, aims to ensure that employees can enjoy a financially secure Diwali.
The distribution of bonuses and special grants is a long-standing tradition at PMC, aimed at recognizing the hard work of its staff throughout the year. In the past, this process involved debates and discussions, often mired in political agendas. However, with the appointment of an administrator overseeing PMC operations, the approval process has become more efficient, ensuring a smoother distribution of bonuses and grants.
Employees must meet certain criteria to be eligible for the special grant, including a minimum attendance requirement of 180 days over the past year. Department heads are responsible for verifying all necessary documents by October 18, including service books and salary bills. Deductions for the organization fund will also be made as per the circular.
This streamlined administration process, overseen by the administrator, guarantees that employees will receive their bonuses and grants in a timely manner. By avoiding political delays and ensuring efficient procedures, PMC is making sure that its employees are rewarded and appreciated before the Diwali festivities kick off.
