Hey Punekars, are you ready to take a step towards better mental health at work? A recent study has shown that 1 out of 2 corporate employees are at risk of poor mental health, with stress impacting their productivity. To address this pressing issue, Connecting Trust, a city-based NGO, is organizing a Walkathon on Sunday, 13th October 2024, from 4 PM to 6 PM.

The walkathon aims to draw attention to the impact of workplace environments on mental health. Data from recent research studies has highlighted the importance of mental health in the workplace. Employees aged between 35 and 45, women, and those in higher positions are at higher risk. Additionally, employees working over 45 hours a week are also vulnerable to poor mental health.

Job or work-life balance was identified as the top contributor to mental health issues, with many employees reporting stress and pressure affecting their family life. Shockingly, 80% of employees took leave due to stress, anxiety, or poor mental health in the last year, and 90% felt obligated to work even while on leave.

Another report revealed that 1 in 4 Indian employees struggle to speak up about their mental health concerns without fear of judgment. These findings emphasize the global prevalence of mental health challenges in the workplace, prompting the theme for World Mental Health Day 2024 – ‘It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace’.

Join Connecting Trust for the World Mental Health Day Walkathon 2024, starting from Sambhaji Park and passing through J.M. Road, Good Luck Chowk, and FC College. The event will be flagged off by prominent figures from the NGO, including the Founder and Managing Trustee, Arnavaz Damania. Let’s come together to raise awareness, promote mental health, and drive actions to create a healthier work environment for all. See you there on Sunday evening!
