The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is currently facing delays in issuing birth and death certificates due to ongoing technical difficulties with the central online system used for registrations. This has caused frustration among citizens who are eagerly awaiting their certificates.
The municipal health department, under the leadership of Dr. Neena Borade and Dr. Manisha Naik, has reached out to the public for patience and cooperation as they work tirelessly to address these issues. The delays are a result of recurring technical problems with the Civil Registration System (CRS), which has been causing disruptions in the processing of registrations.
Key issues contributing to the delays include frequent server downtimes and processing delays even when the system is operational. These technical difficulties have led to significant disruptions for citizens, who are finding it increasingly challenging to obtain their certificates in a timely manner.
To add to the inconvenience, recent changes now require citizens to collect their birth or death certificates from the specific regional office where the event was registered, instead of from any regional office of the PMC. This new requirement has only worsened the delays caused by the system issues.
The PMC is actively working to resolve the problem by collaborating with various authorities such as the District Registrar, State Health Officials, and Central CRS Authorities. Their efforts are focused on addressing the technical glitches that have been affecting the system’s functionality.
In the meantime, Dr. Neena Borade and Dr. Manisha Naik are appealing to citizens for their cooperation and understanding during this challenging time. They reassured the public that the municipal health department is working diligently to restore normal operations and ensure the timely issuance of certificates once the technical issues have been resolved.
