Hey Pune folks! Exciting news coming your way – two new DP roads are set to be built in Mohammadwadi and Handewadi thanks to a Development Credit Note. The Pune Municipal Corporation recently gave the green light to this proposal, with an estimated cost of Rs 88.83 crore for the construction.
The PMC has decided to tackle traffic issues in the city by developing DP roads and bridges through a public-private-partnership model. This means developers will receive Development Credit Notes in exchange for their contributions to the projects.
One of the roads will be a 24-m DP road in Mohammadwadi, while the other will be a 24-m RP road connecting Undri to Handewadi. These developments are much needed as many areas in Pune are currently facing serious traffic problems due to narrow roads.
With the city facing a shortage of funds, the option of Development Credit Notes was chosen to prioritize the widening of DP roads. As a result, seven DP roads and two flyovers will be constructed on a PPP basis to ease traffic congestion.
The civic administration is confident that these new roads will improve traffic flow in Mohammadwadi and Handewadi, providing much-needed relief to residents. The proposal was approved at a recent Standing Committee meeting chaired by Municipal Commissioner Dr Rajendra Bhosale.
So get ready for smoother rides ahead, Pune! The city is gearing up for some major infrastructure upgrades that will benefit everyone on the road.
